Find some answers to the most frequently asked questions about your Filter Bottle and Replacement Filters.
Tomatoes are usually to blame! If you wash your filter bottle alongside pans or bowls that have had strong coloured sauces in, like tomato or carrot, some of the colour can transfer. This can happen in the sink as well as the dishwasher. To keep your bottles looking lovely and new, put them at the front of the queue if you’re washing up by hand, and on the top shelf if you’re using a dishwasher. This usually results in fewer undesirable stains!
The filter bottle is designed to be used with cold water, so it’s best not to heat anything in it.
Of course! It happy to be sterilised by steam (electric and microwave), by boiling (5 minutes) and by cold water tablet / liquid solution. Just remove the filter first:)
As a guide, we suggest replacing the filter every 2 months or after approx. 400 uses - whichever comes first. After 400 uses the little filter will have done its magic on around 150 litres of water, so it will probably be pretty tired by then.
Every time your little one takes a sip, water passes through the clever filter inside the bottle. This reduces lead and removes 99.9% of microbial cysts. It also reduces the taste and smell of chlorine to make cleaner, tastier water.
Of course, as long as you take out the filter first! It’s also a good idea to put bottles and cups on the top shelf of your dishwasher. As with all plastic things they can get a bit stained and yucky-looking in the dishwasher(blame that bolognese sauce or carrot soup you had last night). If they do get discoloured there’s nothing to worry about - they’re perfectly safe, they just don’t look as good!
If you’re finding that the filter isn’t working effectively, try re-submerging the filter in water for at least 20-minutes as it can dry out if not used for a period of time, especially if storing for a length of time.
Sorry, no. As this cup is so unique, it won’t fit any of our other bottles or cups.
