The Groclock has an easy to understand illuminated LCD display that indicates when children should be sleeping and when they can get up, using friendly graphics to show the time. I received this for free to review and I have mixed feelings about it. I love the concept. I have been looking at several for awhile, trying to decide if it was worth it. This clock is small, so it won't take up a lot of room on the night stand. Plus it looks like a clock. However the time is really small, I'm putting this in my toddlers room....I want the numbers big. The clock switches between blue and yellow. Blue for night and power saving, yellow for wakeup. The yellow is great, everything is easy to see. The blue, not so much. It strained my eyes when I was trying to set it up(and it makes the white clock look yellowed...me being picky, I know) The blue is also very hard to read when the sun shines on it. In my child's room, it was very hard to find a good spot that also had a plug nearby. Set up. I must have plugged and unplugged this thing 6 times while trying to set it up. (That was the easiest way to get back to the menu) Don't set this up sleep deprived. If you hit the buttons too many times, you end up activating and unactiving the clock, changing things you don't want to, etc. The story it comes with is cute, but it's printed on paper, not cardboard, so it's not toddler proof. It's written in English and Spanish on the same page, pretty cool. However the print is small and not bold, so it makes it hard to read in a dimmed room.
I got this product for free to test. It is easy to use and works pretty well, you can set alarms for daytime naps as well as morning wake-ups. Set-up is easy and the LED dims too so you can set the desired brightness. The only issue I have is that my daughter (3.5 years old) completely ignores it. She wakes up every night and still comes to my bed. Don't think that's related to the product, just not a win for us.
This is a cute little toddler clock that allows my 2 year old to know when it is bed time by showing a blue star clock face or when it is okay to be up with a yellow light up sun. I wish it could be completely dimmed at night time because she doesnt like the light it puts off. Very cute concept and easy to use
This has helped my son learn to enjoy bedtime. :)thanks
I like the clock a lot I just wish there was a battery option, I'm running out of outlets in the kids' bedroom!
We have been STRUGGLING to get my toddler out of our bed and into her own for quite sometime now, so when I saw this I jumped on it! It has been an awesome addition to our nighttime and naptime routine and makes her feel more independent too! And that helps mommy and daddy sleep better, Happy baby equals Happy Mommy! I will say that the light can be a but bright at times but I have learned to kind if adjust that by turning it by a certain angle, but so far so good!
That is amazing clock for kids,at first of all it is easy to use for kids, and kids can learn how to use clock it is entertaining for them. They can adjust night light and also bedtime and nap times, fun for them to watch stars moving. It also has a digital clock option. But the most amazing part is that has bedtime story book included,my kids loves playing it every night. If you want you child to learn how to use alarm clock that is the best option for them and easy to use it.
Started using this with my 2yo who was getting confused on day/night with time changes. It's simple enough for her to understand to lay in bed until "the sun comes up" and if its stars are still out to stay tucked in. It's still a work in progress, but this definately helps her have a visual! It has a soft glow that doesn't seem to bother her either. Would recommend for your littles who are able to get in and out of bed on their own!
We have super struggled with night/day time mixups with our little dude, and having a tangible, color representative item that can show him exactly when it’s time to get up (even though he can’t tell time yet) has been great!
We received the Groclock Kids Training Alarm Clock and I thought it would be perfect as a tool to assist in sleep training my two year old. He is developmentally delayed and it’s been hard getting a sleep routine to stick. We read the accompanying storybook (though I’m sure he didn’t fully grasp the context) and set the gloclock for nap as well as bedtime. He likes looking at it and even though he doesn’t understand the countdown he seems to understand the general night and day concept. After working with him to stay in bed at night and being up during the day it has helped. there are still times he’s up or that myself or Dad lay with him but it has helped. The clock is smaller than I thought it would be but is decent in size. The display is bright enough to see but not bright enough to be a distraction. The icon for night and day are clear. It is very easy to set up. I can admit my son has knocked it off his nightstand a few times and it still functions as designed. We also had a power glitch and it wasn’t impacted. Overall I’m looking forward as we continue to use this to sleep train as he gets older and hopefully fully understands its function. Oh and my older kids now want one. They said seeing the images vs time ticktocking away would be better for them.
When I read about an alarm clock for kids I kind of thought it was a joke, but I’ve seen more and more of these come out on the market and thought maybe it’s a real thing. The Tommee Tippee GroClock has been amazing since night one. I have a 3 year old and a 22 month old. My 3 year old was coming in to our bedroom at 5am every morning and then wanting to fall back to sleep in our bed and then ends up being cranky and tired the rest of the day. First night with the alarm clock we set it to 7am and my 3 year old stayed in bed until she saw the sun! She now loves seeing the star wink at her every night before bed and is so excited when she sees the sun for wake up time. My 22 month old is still in a crib so we are still able to keep her contained, but she has learned to stay quiet until she sees the sun as well. It’s been such a great thing for our sleep life and my husband and I can get a little more sleep in our day before chasing after our little ones! Thank you Tommee Tippeee for staying innovative and creating products that grow with our kids.
I was super impressed by this product and my child loved it. It really gave her a sense of independence. I love how it tells her when it’s time to wake. And she love having her very own ‘clock’.
I received this a few days ago and it has begun to work very well with my kids. They love that they can tell when it’s time to go to bed and wake up. It really has helped us improve their sleep pattern already. It is also a simple and easy to use design.
I really wanted this because my two and three year old consistently wake up around 6 or so and wake all through the night. I was hoping a clock like this would keep them in bed and until a more decent time. It is easily programmed and the instructions are simple. Can be used for nap times even which is pretty great. My kids think it is a fun and love the little sun and star design. I do think in time, when they fully understand not getting up when the star is on the clock or while it is blue, that it will work perfectly. I think it is a cute and great little children’s clock.
I got this a week ago and so far it’s been great with letting my 2 1/2 year old know when he should be sleeping and when it’s time to wake up. Wevetbeen having a hard time with him understanding when it time to go to slee and he’s sit in his crib and play, but now he has a visual reminder and knows that the moon means no playing.
I love that you can set the clock to visually show kids when they should be sleeping and when they can be awake.
I only recieved this a few sats ago but so far i really like it. The settings are easy to control and the night light is handy. The alarm sound could be more gentle for being for children though.
We plan to use this when we move my 2 year old into her big kid room in the next few months. I'm hopeful that it helps us teach her when she can and can't get out of bed. The features of this are great, and I love the design. We have high hopes this will help with a smooth transition!
We have tried other clocks that light up at certain times of the day but they didn’t work nearly as well as this one! We love that the kids can look at any time to see if it’s time to wake or stay in bed. The added feature of the disappearing stars the closer it gets to wake time is also super helpful for our 4 year old. Great product!
We had this clock for 2 nights/days now and my 3 year old daughter absolutely loves it. She understands the concept of it and says"Sun is down,Moon is up" every time she goes to bed. Even if she wakes before"Sun is up" she just stays in bed and cuddles with her teddy. She feels like she is in control and makes her feel like a big girl. The little book that comes with it is quite durable and easy to hold and "read" by my daughter. She loves how the clock is illustrated in the book so it makes her feel so special. As a parent I have to say this is a great device for littles who do not understand grown up world yet. Set up is really easy and instructions are easy to follow. Love that I can adjust or turn off brightness since my daughter sleeps in pitch dark. Alarm sound is not too loud or obnoxious so down the road it will be easy for my daughter to use. It can be used for grow up wake up alarm, if need be. Design is very sleek and can blend in in any kind of room decor. The only thing I would like it to have is option for batteries when family is taking a road trip and for convenience of it. I would definitely recommend this product to parents of toddlers.
I bought this clock for my dad who has Alzheimer's. The idea was all he had to do was look and see whether the background was a yellow sun or a blue star and he would know if it was day or night, if it was time to stay in bed or time to get up. But the yellow sun background only stays for 2 hours and then it flips to the digital display. There was no way to make it stay It has to be reset every night. That is completely useless. I don't see the value of that for a toddler either. Complete waste of money. Not the simple clock that I wanted it expected.
How do you get your children to understand when it's time to get up? It's easy - stay in bed until you see the sun. The Groclock uses fun images of the stars and sun to communicate when to go back to sleep and when it's time to spring out of bed.
Reading a book is a great part of a bedtime routine. 'Sleepytime farm' helps children understand the importance of a good night's sleep, encouraging them to stay in bed longer.
The brightness of the Groclock can be easily turned down or off completely and the handy child lock feature means no changing the time settings in the night.
