How to make a feed

Before use:

• Clean and disinfect the surface you are going to use. It is important that you wash your hands.

• Fill the kettle with fresh tap water (do not use water that has been boiled before). Boil the

water.

Take care when handling freshly boiled water.

Hot flask

Fill the hot flask with boiling water to take out and about with you. Water will remain hot for up to 4 hours if filled to the max level excluding the neck.

You can also use the digital lid to sterilise your hot flask.

Cooling flask

  1. Press and hold the power symbol for 3 seconds to turn the lid on/off. Once the lid is switched on, a green star will appear. If inactive, the green star will disappear after 3 seconds, but the lid is still switched on. The lid will automatically turn off after 40 minutes to reserve battery power.

  1. Once the device is active, double tap the power button to start the UV sterilising cycle. When sterilising, the star will flash blue. When the star disappears, the sterilising cycle is finished.

  1. Measure out the formula as per manufacturer instructions and store in the milk powder dispenser until it’s ready to use.

  1. Add boiled water to the cooling flask, using the graduation marks on the inside of the flask as a guide. Note: you can also measure out the boiled water in a bottle before decanting into the flask.

  1. Screw on the digital lid tightly and turn the cooling flask upside down for a minimum of 5 seconds. Tap the power symbol to display the star on the digital lid, it should turn red.

  1. Decant the formula powder from the milk powder dispenser into the cooling flask.

  1. Ensure the lid is screwed on correctly and shake well to mix the powder with the hot water, ensuring it’s fully dissolved. Shaking the cooling flask starts the cooling process.

  1. The time it takes for the feed to cool depends on the feed size, refer to the cooling times table for more information. To check if a feed is ready to dispense into a baby bottle, turn the cooling flask upside down for a minimum of 5 seconds so the milk touches the digital lid. Tap the power symbol to display the star, the lid will show a green star when the feed is ready. Don’t dispense the feed before minimum cooling time.

  1. Decant your feed into a clean, sterile bottle, and follow bottle feeding instructions. Always check the temperature before feeding your baby on the inside of your wrist - it should feel lukewarm, not too hot or cold. Once a feed is made, use immediately.

The digital lid

The digital lid can be used on both the hot and cold flasks for sterilisation only.

The integrated thermometer in the digital lid will activate the digital screen when it comes into contact with water or milk. On the cool flask, the digital lid will tell you when a feed is ready for baby (green star) or when it’s too hot (red star).

To help maintain battery life switch the digital lid off between feeds by pressing the power symbol for 3 seconds.

The built-in UV steriliser can be used on both hot and cold flasks, when they’re empty or filled with water. Do not use the UV steriliser when the flask is filled with milk.

The digital lid will last 30-35 sterilising cycles between charges. When battery power is low the star will flash purple. Please charge using the USB cable provided.

Cooling and reset time

Cooling times should be used as a guide only. Always check food temperatures before feeding. Always follow formula powder manufacturer’s instructions for making a feed.

The cooling flask works by absorbing heat from hot liquids. After being exposed to heat, it will require 3-4 hours minimum before being ready to use again. To help accelerate the reset time you can add cold water to the unit and place in the fridge.

Cleaning and sterilising

How to Clean

Hot flask

The hot flask base and lid can be cleaned in warm soapy water or a dishwasher.

Cooling flask

The cooling flask base can be cleaned in warm soapy water or a dishwasher.

The digital lid can only be washed in warm soapy water. Make sure to remove the silicone seal and clean behind using the small brush provided. Follow the instructions below to sterilise the cooling flask with the digital lid.

How to use the UV sterilisation

  1. Make sure the device has been fully cleaning using warm soapy water (see above).

  1. Reassemble once device is fully dry.

  1. Turn on device by holding down power button for 3 seconds, then double tap to start the sterilising process.

  1. The blue star will flash to show sterilising cycle is in progress.

  1. After 60 seconds the flashing blue light will switch off and the sterilising cycle will be complete.

WARNING: Always keep out of reach of children. Take care to avoid the flask being knocked over during the sterilisation process. Do not open the lid when UV cycle is underway.

Alternative sterilisation methods:

Descaling (base only)

To avoid the build-up of limescale the container should be periodically cleaned. The best results are obtained using a mixture of water and bicarbonate of soda or washing up liquid. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.
