Sleepbags

Safe sleep for them. Better sleep for you.

Designed for babies aged 6 to 36 months, Tommee Tippee newborn and baby sleepbags are made with soft cotton fabric that’s kind to your baby’s skin, soothing at nighttime and easy to wash (again and again). The bottom-to-top zip make blurry eyed nighttime nappy changes less of a challenge, and their specially designed wide bottom encourages a natural ‘frog-legged’ sleeping position and supports healthy hip development.

Better sleep for your baby means better nights for you. Our sleepbags for babies and toddlers are available in 1.0 tog and 2.5 tog so you’ll always have the right tog for the right season. No more loose blankets to kick off and no getting up to tuck anyone back in. Choose your size and tog, zip up, and enjoy sounder sleep.

Why choose a baby sleeping bag?

Sleepbags have fitted necks and armholes so your child can't slip down inside, and they mean you don’t need loose bedding in the cot. That's why safe sleep organisations such as The Lullaby Trust recognise well-fitting, hoodless sleeping bags as a safe option. For you, that means one less worry at bedtime and no midnight blanket rescues.

Blankets can get kicked off, and sleepbags can’t. A well-fitted sleepbag keeps your child at a consistent temperature through the night, so you're not up checking whether they're too cold or pulling covers back into place. Sleepbags also work well as a sleep cue: when it goes on, it's time for bed.

How to choose the right tog

The right tog depends on the temperature of the room, rather than the season. The Lullaby Trust recommends keeping a baby's room between 16 and 20°C. As a general guide, our 2.5 tog sleepbags suit rooms in that range, and our 1.0 tog sleepbags suit warmer rooms of around 20-24°C. Pair your sleepbag with a GroEgg nursery thermometer and you'll know which tog to reach for at a glance.

Product FAQ's

Our sleepbags are designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 36 months. Choose the size based on your child's height and weight as well as their age, so the neck and armholes fit well.

It depends on the temperature of the room. Use a room thermometer like the GroEgg to check, then match the tog to our tog guide. As a general rule of thumb, choose lower togs for warmer rooms and higher togs for cooler ones.

Follow the dressing guide on the label, which matches clothing layers to the tog and room temperature. Typically, that means a vest or sleepsuit. Never add a hat or extra blankets, as babies can overheat.

Yes, when they fit well, have no hood, and are the right tog for the room. A sleepbag should replace loose bedding rather than be used alongside it. For full advice, see The Lullaby Trust's safe sleep guidance.

There's no fixed age. Our range goes up to 36 months, and many parents keep using sleepbags until their child moves into a bed. If your toddler sleeps well in one, there's no rush to stop.
