Toddlers' appetites can sometimes dip when the weather’s warm. This Quick Cook ice cream is a great cold dessert that’s nourishing, too.

You can play around with the flavours using different kinds of nut butter, berries, and tropical fruits.

This recipe makes four servings that are perfect for snacking or an after-dinner desert.

  • 2 bananas

  • 80mls of milk

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

  • 1 heaped teaspoon of cocoa powder (optional)

  • a handful of fresh berries of your choice (optional)

  1. Slice the banana into one-centimetre pieces and place them in a freezer bag.
  2. Freeze for at least six hours or overnight.
  3. Place the frozen banana in the Quick Cook jug along with the milk and peanut butter.
  4. At this point, you can add in one heaped teaspoon of cacao powder or a handful of berries if you are using them.
  5. Blend for two minutes, adding more milk if needed.

This tasty ice cream is best eaten straight away but it can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

  • Cow’s Milk: The cow's milk used can be substituted for a plant-based milk alternative.

  • Peanuts: You can substitute the peanut butter used for almond butter.
