Our breast-like nipples are shaped to encourage a natural latch and made using soft, silicone to mimic the flex and stretch of a breast.

They’re expertly designed to help prevent nipple confusion and make switching between breast, bottle and back again, easy.

A teat that is as close to a nipple as possible makes it much easier, much more comfortable, for babies to feed.

The teat has definitely helped us because Noa's got a high palate, so the flexibility and the dome shape helped us to get positioning better because of that flexibility.

Know your flow.
_

Using the right flow rate is just as important as nipple shape when it comes to bottle acceptance.

Our baby bottle nipples come in different flow rates to keep up with your growing baby (and their growing appetite).

For newborns, an extra slow or slow flow nipple can help them adapt to latching and the sucking action needed for bottle feeding.

Each nipple is marked with its flow rate.

0 = Extra Slow: Specially made for baby's first feeds and a gentle pace from birth.

1 = Slow: For newborns and babies below three months.

2 = Medium: For babies aged three months and up.

3 = Fast: For babies aged six months and up.

Y = Thick: For use from birth. The Y cut in the tip means they can control the flow and can feed at a pace that’s most comfortable for them.

Combi-feeding?

_

Babies use different suckling techniques to breast and bottle feed, and milk usually flows faster through a nipple than it does from your breast.

Most babies start with an extra slow or slow flow nipple to adapt to bottle feeding, but if you've got a strong breast milk flow, your baby may feed more comfortably with a faster flowing nipple.

Time for a change?
_

You might want to consider a nipple with a slower flow rate if your baby...

- gulps, coughs, or gags when feeding

- has excess milk dripping out of their mouth

- or refuses to feed

And a faster flow rate may help if they...

- take longer than 20 minutes to finish a feed

- tug at the nipple

- or fall asleep while feeding

Tommee Tippee have thought about lots of different things when it comes to designing teats, even the flexibility of the teat so that it's able to reach up to the palate properly, like a nipple would do.That's probably why these teats are so popular.
