Let's talk teats

Whether you’re making the move from breastfeeding, or have been bottle feeding for a while, it’s important to check that the teats you’re using are the right ones for your baby and their bottle.

So, here is everything you need to know...

Which teat is which?

It can be hard to remember what bits go together. Our Natural Start and Advanced Anti-Colic bottles use different style teats, and all our teats are marked to show their flow rates.

The faster the flow rate, the bigger the hole in the teat is. Check it out...

What are flow rates?

We offer teats with a range of flow rates to suit babies from newborns to six months and beyond. Whether your little one takes their feed slowly or gulps it down quickly, there’s a teat that’s right for them. All our teats are made from soft silicone that flexes and stretches like mum so your baby can feed comfortably at their own pace.

Remember that every baby is different and develops at their own rate, so the age indications on our teats are just a guide. Your baby may be ready to move on sooner or later.

Signs they need to move to a faster flow

As baby grows, they'll be able to feed more quickly. So, just as you use bigger bottles to hold more milk, you may also need to change your teats to provide a faster flow. Look out for these key signs...

They take longer than 20 minutes to finish a feed

They fall asleep during a feed

They tug at the teat while feeding
